Here is a Black Griffin for The Great Plushie Contest! A griffin traditionally is the front half of an eagle and the back half of a lion. I think the pairing of almost any bird/cat mix works.
He is from my own pattern, with some advice from He is 18" long and has a wingspan of about 14 inches (stretched). His front is made from longpile black fur with silver tinsel accents. His back half and underwing is from some sort of short fuzzy material the name of which eludes me. His wings are lined with feather trim. I molded his talons and beak from plastic and then hand painted. I made an open beak for this guy. (You can see his tongue!) The inside of his ears are felt, and his eyes are store bought. He has a wire from his head to his tail and down both wings so he can be posed. He will get a pin on his belly so that he can sit on a shoulder.
I'm really pleased with how he came out. Unfortunatly, being all black he was kind of hard to photograph, so they don't really do him justice. I hope you enjoy anyway!
ITS SO CUTE
